What is an adventure elopement?

An adventure elopement is a type of wedding ceremony that involves an adventurous experience, such as hiking to a mountaintop, exploring a national park, or kayaking on a secluded lake. The focus of an adventure elopement is on the experience of the couple, rather than traditional wedding formalities or large gatherings of people. Typically, an adventure elopement involves just the couple and an officiant, photographer, or small group of close friends and family members. The ceremony is often held in a scenic outdoor location that has special meaning to the couple, and may involve exchanging vows. I’ll be with you every step of the way planning this type of elopement!

What is an adventure engagement session? 

An adventure session is a type of photography that captures a couple participating in an outdoor adventure activity or experience. This can include activities such as hiking, rock climbing, skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, or any other outdoor activity that is adventurous and exciting. The goal of an adventure photography session is to capture not only the beauty of the natural environment but also the spirit of adventure and excitement that comes with exploring the outdoors. Adventure photography sessions are popular among couples who want to capture their love for each other in a unique and memorable way and who want to document their outdoor adventures and experiences. They provide an opportunity to showcase not only the beauty of the natural world but also the joy and excitement of exploring it. I love putting couples in nature to create magical photos! Little people, big scene is one of my  favorite photo ops!

How far in advance should we reach out to book you for our adventure elopement or wedding?

You should reach out 8-12 months in advance to insure that I have your date available. There is a chance even if it’s a last minute wedding that I will have the date available so don’t hesitate to reach out! 

What’s an engagement session like? Do we really need to do one?

These sessions include up to a 2 hour shoot, multiple outfits, multiple locations, communication and guidance on outfits, locations, etc., an online gallery with high-res images, digital downloads and the printing rights. I HIGHLY recommend doing an engagement session with me. It helps me get to know you and it helps you know what to expect from me on the wedding day as far as posing goes. I promise it’s a lot of fun. After the session is over, every couple says, “Wow, that wasn’t so bad”. 

What exactly is included in your wedding packages?

Each wedding package includes communication with you about all things wedding and engagement sessions. Location suggestions for the engagement session, vendor recommendations, a custom timeline for your wedding day, communication with your wedding planner, a professional and awesome experience on your wedding day, an online gallery with high-rese images, digital downloads, and the printing rights (and you can print straight from the gallery. They come from a professional printing service).

How many photos will we receive from our wedding or session?

I can’t give you an exact number but I tend to photograph around 100 photos an hour and then once they’ve been culled for a 10 hour wedding you may receive 800+ photos. For 8 hour weddings, 600+ and 6 hour weddings 400+. Engagement sessions you can expect 200+ and family sessions 100+.

What is your editing style?

I consider my editing style to be light, bright, airy and happy! My couples always say they love the way I edit because the colors are real and it looks so happy. They want their wedding day to reflect the happiness in their photos by way of the editing style. I want your photos to stand the test of time and not look outdated in 5,10,15 years. Also, I don’t use filters but I edit every image and will further edit images at your request. 

We’ve never had our photos taken and are afraid of being super awkward…help!

Not to worry! Every couple I photograph feels this same exact feeling! I promise to guide you every step of the way. When you arrive we will chat a little bit to get to know each other. I’ll ask you a few questions about what you want out of your session and then we will get started! I will ask you to interact with each other, giving you prompts that will make it feel effortless. You might even forget that I’m there! Once we are finished, I will get so excited about editing them you will receive a gallery within 5-7 days with your gorgeous photos and think to yourself, wow, we look good and not awkward!! :)

Where do you live? Do you travel?

I currently live in Chattanooga, TN, and love photographing all over the southeast. I’ve also photographed in Ireland, Alaska, Colorado, California, and Maine. So the sky’s the limit. It’s been an honor to travel with couples. If you want me there, I’ll be there!
